LetsDnD Verdict

Micromax is open to focus on budget friendly handsets. As the new Canvas Nitro 2 smartphone, which was unveiled sporting a price tag of Rs 10,399 is fulfilling the budget friendly goal of Micromax.
Micromax’s latest Canvas smart phone is similar to its predecessor; with the only differences between the Nitro 2 (E311) and the Nitro (A311) being that the former is powered by a 1.4GHz Octa-core processor and packs a 2400mAh battery. The other specifications of the new smart phone are identical to the Canvas Nitro (A311). To refresh, Micromax back in September 2014 launched the Canvas Nitro (A310) in India.
The dual-SIM Canvas Nitro 2 (E311) runs Android 4.4 KitKat, and features a 5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It features 2GB of DDR3 RAM and comes with a 5-megapixel front-facing fixed focus camera, apart from a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera that features an M8 Largan lens and a Sony sensor, coupled with LED flash.
Connectivity options include GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Micro-USB, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM radio. The Canvas Nitro 2 includes 16GB of inbuilt storage and supports expandable storage via microSD card (up to 32GB). The handset features an accelerometer, ambient light, and proximity sensor.
The smartphone is available in Moondust Grey and Pristine White colours across India.
The Canvas Nitro 2 E311 comes with an HD resolution display and features a Mediatek made octa-core mobile processor, making it an attractive proposition for interested customers.
The bad thing is it is running Android 4.4 KitKat and not Android  Lollipop 5.0, which is perhaps the only downside of this device. Most budget devices like the Lenovo A7000, the 2nd gen Moto E etc are running Lollipop out of the box and cost less money than the Canvas Nitro 2, so Micromax should understand that OS is a major factor appealing to the buyers.
The Canvas Nitro A311 is currently selling for Rs 9,999 via online retailers, so there is nearly equivalence in the pricing between the two phones.
